ABOUT EXPOSURE 2008
Exposure festival is an emerging festival now entering its second year of presentation that uncovers, highlights and celebrates queer arts and culture. Based in Edmonton, Alberta, this annual festival presents challenging, smart, powerful work that captures queer life and culture, and provides entry points for Queer communities and their allies. As we are only in our second year we will partner with other organizations and presenters to present a diversity of disciplines, media and approaches to art; however, we are specifically looking for work that engages audiences about issues of social justice, trans-communities and trans-sexual politics, issues of diversity, class, sex and gender. For 2008, we are asking for submissions in all media and will present work that is strong, effective and that will resonate for audiences within the greater Edmonton region.

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR SUBMISSION
With submission, please include at least the following:

  • Your artistic c.v.;
  • A one-page description of your work and what you want to present;
  • A sample of your work specific to your discipline (digital images, audio or video files, scripts excerpts, etc.);
  • If you want your materials back, you must include sufficient return postage and a return address;
  • A proposed budget of costs associated with the presentation of your work.
Exposure festival respects artists as professionals and pays artist fees, travel and other related costs with the presentation of artistic and cultural works.
