Saw the film this Saturday, It really touches something very profound about childhood. I felt like the whole thing was a dream I had in my own childhood, something very raw and real and strange. The little boat on an immense ocean. The boy a speck on the blasting dunes. These fantasy realms are not escapist whimsical wonderlands but rather amplifications of feelings, sensibilities, impulses. Such a surreal experience. The boy in the boat and monsters knee deep in the water in the end. I think it needs to be seen twice Awesome Ted, Very true.
